Malpe: A person beaten to death; Attempted murder of a youth

Udupi: A person identified as Guruvelu from Andhra Pradesh was beaten to death by some unidentified persons near the pond in Malpe on Sunday.

Case details

On April 27th, a person identified as Amit (27) had slept on the rocks laid along the coast in front of Hanuman Vithoba temple near Malpe pond. At 12:30pm in the night, an unidentified person attacked him with a wooden stick and inflicted grievous injury to his head and hands. The critically injured Amit was rushed to the hospital and admitted. A case has been registered against the unidentified person on the charges of attempted murder.

In this backdrop, few persons attacked Guruvailu who was standing near Vithoba temple. A counter complaint has been submitted to Malpe police station claiming that Guruvailu died because f the attack.

The case has created much curiosity and police are drawing a net to catch the attacker and the murderers.
