Tumakuru: In a tragic incident, a farmer died after he stepped on a live electric cable that had fallen on his paddy field at Alburu village in Tiptur taluk.
The deceased is identified as Krishne Gowda, (50).
It is gathered that as there was heavy wind and rain on Saturday, April 27 night, one of the power cables had snapped and fallen on the paddy field. On Sunday, April 28 Krishne had gone to the field to supply water to the crops. He accidentally stepped on the wire and got electrocuted.
When Bescom linemen went to the spot around 11.30 AM, they saw Krishne Gowda lying dead in the field, informed sources.
