Two more arrested regarding Youth Congress activists’ murder case

Kasaragod: Two more accused in the murder case of youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharath Lal, have been arrested by the police. The arrested accused persons are identified as Pradeep (38) and Mani (32). With the arrest of these two the total number of accused has risen to 11
According to the information gathered by the investigating team, they have ascertained that the 8th accused has escaped to abroad. Apparently the twin murder plot was hatched by Pradeep. The team has also learnt that after the murder, Pradeep had provided the accused with new clothes and had helped the murderers to reach Uduma zonal office of CPI(M) with assistance from Subeesh. Mani.
The arrest
Since the murder, Pradeep has been on the run. However on April 23, Congress party workers spotted Pradeep when he had come to cast his vote in the Lok Sabha election. They immediately took his photo and handed it over to the investigation team. Later, Pradeep and Mani were arrested by the investigating police officers.
The twin murder
The youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharath Lal were murdered when they were returning home on bike on the night of February 12. The police have already arrested nine people including local CPI (M) leader Peetambaran. The case is currently being investigated by the crime branch.
