Mangaluru: A two-wheeler rider who was injured grievously after his vehicle skidded and he fell near Paldane was helped and admitted to a hospital by a traffic policeman who was returning home after work late on Thursday night.

Apparently, the victim identified as Chirag from Ashok Nagar was riding towards Mangaluru from Neermarga when on reaching Paldane he failed to notice a speed breaker and suddenly applied brakes. This caused the bike vehicle to skid and the rider was thrown on to the road sustaining serious injuries.

Meanwhile, traffic head constable Amarnath Rai attached to the South traffic police station was heading home after finishing work when he saw Chirag lying on the road. Since no ambulance was available at that time, he and some other people present at the spot took the victim to a private hospital.

Once the victim was shifted to the hospital, Mr Rai informed the victim’s relatives about the accident and only after completing all formalities did Mr Rai return to his home.
