One arrested for harassing actor Harshika at resort

Kodagu: Acting swiftly on a complaint filed by actor Harshika Poonacha accusing two persons of behaving indecently with her at a resort in Neerukolli of Madikeri taluk on May 2, the police on Friday arrested one of the accused person.

The arrested has been identified as Bansi Nanaiah while another accused is absconding.

Harshika was in town to attend an engagement ceremony of her relative on Thursday night and had booked a room at the resort. She was accompanied by actor Bhuvan who too was staying at the same resort. It is said that two persons had allegedly harassed Harshika and when Bhuvan opposed to their behaviour, the accused assaulted him.

After availing of treatment at the district hospital Bhuvan left for Bengaluru along with Harshika.

A case has been registered at the rural police station.
