Model code of conduct for govt activities relaxed by State EC

Bengaluru: The State Chief Election Commissioner Sanjiv Kumar relaxed the election model code of conduct in some areas of government activities after accepting a plea that was submitted by the state government, here on Saturday, May 4.

After accepting the plea, Sanjiv Kumar has said that the works on development projects, service sectors projects, basic amenities and the tender process could be carried out.

The appointment process for the constitutional bodies, corporations and other government-owned sectors is now allowed to be carried out. Transfer and land allotment process are also allowed following the relaxation.
