Ujire: Tree falls on car and kills two youngsters

Belthangady: A tree claimed the lives of two youngsters after it fell on the Hyundai Verna car that they were traveling in along the national highway near Siddavana Gurukula at Ujire here on Saturday May 4th.

The deceased have been identified as Vignesh (21), a resident of Ninnikallu, Ujire, and Kshithij Jain (24) of Madanthyar. Two other occupants in the car have suffered injuries. The impact left the car completely mangled.

Apparently, the victims had gone on a visit to Dharmasthala and were returning back when the incident occurred. It is said that Vignesh died on the spot while Kshithij, who has suffered grievous injuries breathed his last while being transferred to the hospital.

According to sources, the deceased duo were sitting in the rear seat of the car, while two others sitting in the front survived with injuries, thanks to the airbags.
