Singer Janaki discharged from hospital after successful surgery

Mysuru: Well-known playback singer S. Janaki was discharged from the hospital after undergoing surgery for an airline fracture on her hip.

A resident of Chennai, Janaki was in town to visit a relative’s place. Reportedly she had slipped and sustained injuries to her lower back and hips while entering the house and was admitted to a super specialty hospital for treatment.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, after being discharged from the hospital, Janaki thanked the people of Karnataka for showering love on her and praying for her speedy recovery. “My fans are like my children and they have prayed for my welfare. I thank them and the doctors and nurses who looked after me,” she said.

The famed singer has been advised three weeks of rest by the doctors.
