Bribery: Education Department official’s bail application rejected

Mangaluru: The bail application submitted by College Education Department Account Superintendent Lokesh A M who is presently incarcerated in connection to demanding bribe for the provision of Audi Clearance Certificate by a principal has been rejected by the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court Judge B Muralidhar Pai.

It was alleged that Lokesh had demanded bribe to provide the Audit Clearance Certificate to Bettampady College Principal Radhakrishna Bhat who was on the verge of retiring. A complaint in this connection was given to Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Mangaluru.

On April 26th, Lokesh was caught red-handed by ACB personnel while receiving the bribe of Rs 2.50 lakh from the principal at a hotel in Surathkal.

Special government prosecutor of Mangaluru corruption control force K S N Rajesh argued in favour of the prosecution.
