Malpe: In connection to the finding of the wreckage of Suvarna Tribhuja boat, the families of the missing fishermen have demanded that the wreckage be brought to the surface.

Nagaraj who is the younger brother of one of the missing fishermen Ramesh Moger from Bhakal spoke with Udayavani and said, they are saying that the wreckage of the boat has been found; if so then one should find out what happened to the occupants right? Mostly when th fishermen sleep within the cabin, they lock the cabin door. In case they are dead, there is possibility that their corpses are within the cabin, he said.

They were looking for a girl

Of the 7 children, Ramesh was the 4th. Two elder sisters, 1 elder brother and 3 younger brothers. The elderly parents have only been informed that the boat has been located and the search is n for its occupants. They were looking for a girl at many places to marry Ramesh. Since the last 5 years he was working with Chadrashekhar Kotian from Badanidiyur.

They kept everything hidden

The families are living with the faith that the missing fishermen are still alive. Later, nothing was provided. The closed everything stating that the election was coming near, alleges Ganapati Mangre, President of UK District Cooperative Fish Market Federation.

Rs 1 crore compensation

“It is definite that the boat met with an accident because of the naval ship. It is not right to wash-off ones hands by giving a paltry compensation to the fishermen. The union government must provide a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of every missing fishermen,” demanded Ganapati Mangra, Karwar
