Mangaluru: Six fish transporting vehicles which were spilling foul smelling water on the road were seized by the police on Thursday May 9. The vehicles in question were violating the newly implemented rule by the City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil.
Citing the order sent by National Green Tribunal (NGT) in the year 2015, the police department had served notice to all trucks and tempos transporting fish prohibiting them from spilling the water from the vehicles onto the road on May 6. The action comes consequent to the violation of the served notice.
The confiscation of vehicles was tweeted by the police commissioner on his twitter account.
