Mysuru: In the backdrop of H D Kumaraswamy’s weekend outing at the Ibnii resort in Madikeri, veteran BJP leader V. Srinivas Prasad expressed regret that the chief minister was making temple runs and staying in resorts while the state is grappling with drought issue.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, organised by the Hoysala Karnataka Sangha, to felicitate noted publisher, T S Chayapathi on the occasion of his 75th birthday Srinivas Prasad said that it was high time that former prime minister and JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda advises his son to focus on drought relief work rather than continue with his temple runs.

Regarding the outcome of Lok Sabha elections, he said that BJP will return to power with a bigger majority than in 2014 and Modi will become PM again.

Noted poet K.S. Nissar Ahmed, 84, who was present on the occasion, appreciated Srinivasprasad for taking objection to prime minister’s ‘bhrashtachari no. 1’ taunt at Rajiv Gandhi. “Rajiv did a lot of good work when he was PM,” he said.

Meanwhile, Srinivasprasad said that Prof Nissar Ahmed deserved to be honoured with the “Rashtra Kavi” award
