Belagavi: Forest Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Monday, May 13 hinted that the Congress will carry out Operation Hasta to protect the coalition in the event of the BJP resorting to Operation Lotus after Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing presspersons here, he said that he will not disclose whether 20 or 30 MLAs of the BJP are in touch with the Congress party leaders, but assured that they have enough legislators of the saffron party with them to prevent the collapse of the coalition.
He further added “The Congress high command will iron out the differences among party leaders. As to how Congress will carry out the operation, I will let you know later.”
Satish who is also the brother of rebel Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi said: “I’m very sure that Ramesh is having several MLAs with him, but it impossible for all of them to quit the Congress and defect.”
Meanwhile, Ramesh, accompanied by his son Amarnath, rushed to Bengaluru from Belagavi on Monday.
As per the sources, Ramesh had to rush for a meeting being organised by a senior Congress leader in Bengaluru on Monday evening. Speaking on the issue Ramesh said that he was going to Bengaluru to get a new message to all my supporters in Gokak.
