Bengaluru: Accusing former chief minister and Coordination Committee chairman Siddaramaiah of calling PM Narendra Modi a traitor, the state lodged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) complaint against the latter and demanded the Election Commission to ban Siddaramaiah from campaigning for the next 72 hours.
As per the complaint by the saffron party, Siddaramaiah had made the remark against PM Mosi at a rally in Chincholi recently.
“Siddaramaiah had called Modi a traitor. He also said Modi had gone abroad misusing public funds. He called Modi a person who divides people along with religion and caste lines. He also called Modi a liar and his only job is to bluff. The word traitor is a personal attack not concerning any policy and therefore is an offence ” alleged BJP.
The BJP further added that Siddaramaiah’s statements are a gross violation of the MCC.
