Mangaluru: The Mangaluru international airport has successfully maintained its top ranking in terms of the survey of private and public-private partnership airports survey, in spite of suffering a decline in terms of service quality criterion.
Reportedly, the service quality rating of this airport had got 4.92 ratings for the three-month period from October 2018 to December 31. During the first three months this year, the service quality rating saw a slump to 4.85.
However, the service quality ranking of this airport this year has slipped from 27th to 38th, if all the airports in the country are taken into account. The average rating of the airports stands at 4.6 and hence the city with 4.85 marks has succeeded in topping the list.
As per the sources, the rating is awarded taking into account the time passengers are forced to wait in the queue, connectivity to airport from different parts of the city, adequacy or otherwise of the parking system, quality of security staff service etc.
As per the survey of private and public-private partnership airports, Ahmadabad stands second with 4.81 and Thiruvananthapuram airport have been ranked third with 4.8.
