MG Motor unveils Hector SUV in India

MG Hector, India’s first Internet car has been unveiled today with 50+ connected features. It is also the first 48V Hybrid SUV of India to come with 19 exclusive features. The 48V mild hybrid technology is the latest global environment-friendly engine technology that reduces petrol engine emissions. A 48-volt lithium-ion battery helps to store energy and provides extra torque assistance of up to 20Nm when required which results in a smoother drive.
As India’s first Internet car, the next-gen i-SMART technology in the Hector offers a safe, connected and fun experiences with the biggest 10.4-inch HD touchscreen in its segment. The car gets MG’s signature design cues including the famous star-rider grille and the character lines are defined by geometric shapes, horizontal flow and symmetry while the interior designs are inspired by modern dance forms.

As MG’s first offering in India, the Hector demonstrates our commitment to provide the best cars to Indian customers, that they love and appreciate”.
The Hector will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5 litre turbo-charged petrol engine delivers 143PS power and a peak torque of 250Nm and will be available in both manual and automatic transmissions. Hector’s 2.0 litre diesel engine will deliver 170PS peak power and a peak torque of 350Nm, with best-in-class fuel efficiency.
MG Hector has been exclusively designed and developed for Indian customers to withstand the extreme road conditions. It has been tested for over one million kilometres in India before entering production at the company’s plant in Halol, Gujarat.
