Kodagu natural calamity: 35 houses distributed among victims

Madikeri: 35 houses constructed in 4.80 acres of land at Karnangeri village have been handed over to the homeless victims of the natural calamity that occurred in the district during the last monsoon. The houses are being provided to the victims in the first phase list, informed T Javare Gowda, sub division officer.

The houses have been constructed by Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd. 106 homeless had demanded that they be provided housing in Karnangeri itself. Three from Karnangeri and 16 from Udayagiri in nearby Makkandur village have been provided with the housing. The remaining 16 houses will be provided via lottery under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner to those victims who had requested to be provided housing here, he informed.
