Public being burdened due to dysfunctional lift at Bantwal mini Vidhana Soudha

Bantwal: All facilities are available at the mini Vidhana Soudha in Bantwal, yet they are not being available for the use of the public, is the complaint being heard here nowadays. The public is struggling to get an RTC. The facilities are unavailable due to the lack of information and the place is crowded with brokers, are complaints being expressed by the general public here.

Outside the environment is clean but once inside, dust, garbage heap here and there, stacks of files welcomes everyone and the use of the restroom is possible only if one closes their noses with their hands. No proper attention is being given towards the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the mini Vidhana Soudha, allege the public.

Lift out of order

Apparently, the only lift at the Vidhana Soudha has remained closed since a month. The battery and the generator at the building is very unreliable as well. The sub-registrar’s office here sees the most activity but the lack of a functional elevator has compelled the public to depend on the lifts. There are instance were in some elders had to be carried.

May burdened

“I had come on some work at the sub-registrar’s office, there was a queue. When I went to use the lift, there was no notice stuck there stating the lift was not functional. After waiting for some time I realized the lift was dysfunctional. I then climbed the stairs to the office. I suffer from knee pain and many like me have been simply burdened,” says Prabhakar Daivagudde, Social worker

Letter to the concerned

“Even though there is a generator, it is not functioning. It has come to my notice that the lift is not functioning. We have already written a letter to the concerned in this connection asking them to resolve it immediately. The problem may be solved within a week,” informs Sannarangayya, Tahsildar, Bantwal
