Bengaluru: Acting on a petition lodged by the Election Commission, the Karnataka High Court on Thursday issued notice to Mohammad Mohsin, a 1996 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, who had checked the helicopter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sambalpur in Odisha.

The EC challenged the CAT order which stayed its suspension on Mohsin for allegedly violating the norms while dealing with SPG protectees. After hearing the argument from the lawyer of petitioner, the court issued notice to Mohammad Mohsin and other respondents namely- Central government and state government.

On April 16 Mohsin has violated the EC norms by checking Prime Minister’s helicopter whereafter he had been suspended by the EC. Mohsin had questioned his suspension before CAT. Now, the EC has questioned the stay from CAT on suspension order of the KAS officer.
