Poll counting: Prohibitory orders and ban on sale of alcohol

Udupi: Precautionary measures are being taken by Udupi district administration to ensure law and order is maintained in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency as the Lok Sabha elections vote counting day draws closer.
On May 23, the votes of the constituency will be counted at St Cecily’s Institutions in Brahmagiri.
The district Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC from May 23, 6 am up to May 25, 6 am.
Ban on alcohol
Sale of alcohol is banned in the district from May 22, 6 pm up to May 24, 6 am. Alcohol will not be served at Hotels as well during the ban period.
Sale and bursting of firecrackers from May 22, 10 am up to May 24, 5 pm has been banned by the DC.
