NIA probe reveals ISIS plot to kill RSS leaders, others

Kasaragod: A probe conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that ISIS has plotted to kill several leaders including those belonging to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from the state.
The information surfaced during the investigations conducted by the agency in Afghanistan, Kerala in the backdrop of the recent serial blasts in Sri Lanka.
Apparently, ISIS had planned to murder prominent leaders to announce to the world that it has set up its unit in Kerala.
‘Ansar Ul Khalif Kerala’ is the name of the ISIS Kerala unit. 25 members of a telegram group of ISIS called ‘Bab AL Noor’ has conducted spy activities in Kerala.
During the investigation, NIA found out that the group had discussed the issue of stopping India from celebrating Independence Day.
ISIS plan of elimination of leaders include RSS leaders, Marad Suresh, Vatsan Tillengeri, two senior high court judges and a senior police officer, P A Unnirajan, inform NIA.
Shajeer Mangallassery Abdulla, who was a student of the National Institute of Technology Kozhikode was identified by Kerala ISIS unit as Amir Abu Ayesha and had died during an operation in Afghanistan in 2016.
