Miscreants apply cow dung on Dr. BR Ambedkar’s statue

Kalaburgi: In a shocking incident, miscreants on later Friday, May 24 night applied cow dung on the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Dastapur village of Kamalapur town.

Following the incident, youths and leaders of the Dalit organizations gathered near the statue and blocked the road in protest.

The protestors pelted stones at the shops and also damaged several two-wheelers, informed sources.

On receiving the news, Superintendent of Police Iada Martin Marbaniang rushed to the spot and assessed the situation.

In order to avoid any further untoward incidents, larger contingents of police have been deployed in Kamalapur town.
