Salt water to sweet water conversion technology invented

Karkala: The lack of pure drinking water during the summer is frustrating. In order to solve the lack of drinking water, the students of the mechanical engineering division of Nitte institute of technology have invented the technology to convert the salt water of the sea into consumable sweet water.
Final year BE students team made of Shreyas, Suvidh Akari, Harsha Karkera and Vinaya Raj Hebtar under the guidance of Mechanical Engineering Division’s professor Dr Mallika have invented the technology to convert the salt water of the sea into consumable drinking water.
The team has successfully converted around 40 liters of salt water into consumable drinking water during experimentation.
