Mithun Rai gets life threat from BD workers; Case filed

Mangaluru: Activists of the pro-hindutva Bajrang Dal oranisation has given a death threat to District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai and a video of this occasion has gone viral on social media. The video depicts BD workers resorting to the use of foul language against Mr Rai along with giving death threats.

Counting of Lok Sabha polls was conducted on May 23^rd and BJP won with a huge margin throughout India including Mangaluru. Although prohibitory orders were in place, the BJP workers nonetheless celebrated the party victory at Badakabail Junction. During this celebration, BD workers use foul language and give a direct death threat to Mithun Rai saying, “If Mithun Rai involves in Bajrang Dal matters we will cut off his hands and legs and also his head if necessary”.

The video clearly depicts the youth who gave the death threat to be holding a saffron flag in his hand and screaming using foul language during the celebration and the rest repeating his actions.

As the video went viral on social media, a case has been registered under Sec 108.
