Beltangady: In a brutal incident a lecturer was hacked to death by unidentified persons at Mundoor in the taluk on Monday, May 27 night.
The deceased identified as Vikram was a lecturer of the government industrial training institute at Maladi.
A two-wheeler was found parked near the spot from where Vikram’s body was found. Also, liquor bottles were found from near Vikram’s car. This has led to suspicions that the miscreants and Vikram might have had an argument in a drunken stupor following which the accused murdered him. Possibility of an old enmity is also being probed.
Police visited the spot and registered a case.
