Mangaluru: A corpse of an eight-month old infant was found on the banks Netravati River in the afternoon of Tuesday. Prima Facie shows signs that the infant may have been murdered via strangulation. The face of the infant also bears injury marks.

It is being said that the corpse is of Mounashree, daughter of Laxman Tenginahala and Roopa, both working as construction workers.

Apparently, the couple was residents of Koppala who have been presently staying in Mfar Camp Shed at Bolar in city for the last fifteen days.

The find is being investigated by the police who assume that the corpse was discarded after being murdered.

The incident

Since Laxman was not feeling well, he decided to work in the city as construction worker on Monday. His wife Roopa had left the child at home and gone to work at about 8 am. When Roopa returned back from work, the infant was missing and Laxman informed her that he had gone out after putting the baby to sleep at 11.45 am but when he returned back home at 12:15pm, the infant was missing.
