Good Friday holiday cancellation: Mangaluru diocese submits memorandum to CM against the action

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of reports that the state government has proposed to reduce the number of public holidays, including on Good Friday, the diocese of Mangaluru submitted a memorandum to the chief minister H D Kumaraswamy against the proposal of removing holiday on Good Friday through the Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil on Saturday June 1.
The delegation led by Msgr Maxim L Noronha, vicar general, diocese of Mangaluru met the deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil and gave the memorandum on behalf of Mangaluru diocese.
Receiving the memorandum the DC assured that he would strongly put across the concern of the Christian community to the chief minister of Karnataka.
