Goliyangadi: Man drowns in a well

Siddapura: A man drowned after accidentally falling into the water in the well while he had alighted into the well to clean it on Saturday June 1st. The deceased is identified as Puttayya Naik (48), a resident of Karikodlu in Hiliyana village.

Soon after the incident, Kundapur fire brigade was alerted, who rushed to the location and fished out Puttayya from the well. The doctor checked him and confirmed his death. The autopsy was conducted at Belve government hospital.

Puttayya’s family is from a poor background and used to survive by cleaning wells. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. A case has been registered at Shankaranarayana police station.
