Sullia: A 61-year-old priest of Kukke Subramanya temple has been hospitalised following an assault on him by few miscreants on Saturday, June 1 night.

The assault took place when the priest, identified as Kumar Bannintaya was standing outside the temple having finished the religious rituals at the temple.

While the motive of the attack is not yet known it is suspected that the feud between the Kukke Subramanya temple and math with regards to conducting Sarpa Samskara ritual may have been the reason for the attack.
