Mulleria: Aduru police have registered a case against three persons in connection to the finding a new born infant in the hands of a woman.
The accused are Yashoda (25), a resident of Ammangodu near Bovikkana, and her brother Timmayya (36) and his wife Kamala (29), both residents of Eshwaramangala in Karnataka.
The case is registered regarding Timmayya and Kamala couple having unofficially handed over their 15-days-old infant to Yashoda.
The couple had come to Ammangodu and handed over the infant to Yashoda. Later the infant fell sick and therefore Yashoda took the baby to Bovikkana Government Hospital for treatment.
Seeing the new born child in the hands of a pregnant woman, the hospital officials immediately informed the Childline. Accordingly, Childline officials reached the house of Yashoda’s house and conducted inquiry which revealed that the infant had been handed over to her by her brother. Later the baby was handed over into the custody of the Child Welfare Committee.
Based on the complaint by the Childline officials, Aduru police registered a case. The police have informed that the case has been handed over to their counterparts in Karnataka for further investigation.
