Might have killed Gandhi, if I lived in that era: SRS chief

Shivamogga: Sri Rama Sene Founder Pramod Muthalik seems to be the latest political leader to join the bandwagon of those who have hailed Mahatma Gandhi’s assassinator Nathuram Godse as a patriot.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Muthalik said that though he is a supporter of Gandhiji’s principles (truth, nonviolence) he too would have committed the heinous crime of Gandhi’s assassination if he was alive in that era.
He justified his remark by claiming that Gandhiji’s thoughts and principles had failed to protect the interests of Hindus and added that the country should discuss the motive behind Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination and not the murder or the murderer.
“I do not defend his (Nathuram Godse) action, but he was a patriot. The statements made by BJP MPs Pragya Singh, Nalin Kumar Kateel and Anantkumar Hegde are right. Islamic terrorism has become a threat to world peace. Everyone is aware of this,” he said.
