Heavy rains expected along Karavali in the next 24 hrs: Weather Department

Mangaluru: in the backdrop of existence of the required climate for the arrival of the monsoon, there could be heavy rains in the southern hinterlands of the state as well as along Karavali in the next 24 hours, informed the Weather Department

The surface storm and air pressure along Karavali has decreased and with this, positive environment for the arrival of monsoon has been created. In this backdrop, heavy rain is expected in the southern hinterlands and along the coast in the coming 24 hours, informs the Weather Department.

The winds are expected to blow at the intensity of 40-50kms/hr in the next 24 hours. Consequently, the waters along the coast are expected to turn treacherous with big waves. Hence, the fishermen have been advised to not to venture out into the sea.
