Unidentified body found in Gurpur river: Sketch of deceased released

Mangaluru: The sketch of the unidentified corpse of a man which was found floating in Gurpur river near Tippunagar ground on Friday has been released by the police.

It is suspected that victim must have been murdered before his corpse was dumped into the river. The corpse was found in the state of putrefaction. Hence the body must have been dumped in the river three to four days ago, inform police sources.

The corpse was found wearing only its briefs and its hands and throat tied with cloth. A stab injury was also found on the abdomen region. The age of the deceased is assumed to be between 35 to 40 years. However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Any claimant for the corpse is requested to contact Bunder police Inspector (9480805338), stated the release from the Police Department.
