Anjana refused marriage proposal of companion and lost her life

Mangaluru: According to the information gathered by the police, it is learnt that Sandeep murdered Anjana after she refused to marry her. The information was revealed after the accused Sandeep Rathod (23), a native of Benakotagi Tanda in Sindagi taluk, Vijayapura district, was caught at Sindagi in joint operation by the police on Saturday.
Sandeep’s real-time location was ascertained by the police after his cell phone number was found stored in the mobile phone belonging to Anjana Vasista.
Apparently, Anjana and Sandeep knew each other well and had an intimate relationship. However, it is said that she refused his marriage proposal. The two ended up fighting on Friday morning which turned violent with the murder of the lady. Anjana was a resident of Tarikere in Chikkamagaluru and had completed her M Sc degree course through a college at Ujire.
It is claimed that Anjana got to know Sandeep through Facebook. While Anjana had come here for training relating to banking examination, Sandeep had come here to get trained for the examination for the post of police sub-inspector. Both had together hired a room behind KMC Hospital Attavar claiming themselves as a married couple.
While the accused is asserting that he had married Anjana, it remains to be ascertained. Meanwhile the police have recovered a Karimani chain from the accused. More details will be revealed only after further investigation, inform the cops.
