Shri A V Ramana appointed as NMPT Chairman

Mangaluru: Shri A V Ramana, Deputy Chairman of Cochin Port Trust has been appointed as the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust(NMPT) by Ministry of Shipping, Govt of India with immediate effect.

He assumed charge from Dr M Beena IAS on Tuesday, June 11.

Shri A V Raman is ME(Mechanical) From BITS Pilani. Prior to Cochin Port Trust, he was Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineer in Kolkata Port Trust and was instrumental in facilitating integrated container operations through Own Operate and Maintain(OOM) model. He has also worked as Chief Administrative Officer, Indian Ports Association and Deputy Director, Indian Maritime University.

Having 26 years of experience in Port sector, he was associated with Sethusamudram Public Hearing Committee, member of Chennai based technical committee regarding infrastructural issues related to Indian Maritime University(IMU)and also associated with preparation of Statue for IMU.
