Ullal: In the backdrop of the cyclone in the Arabian Sea, monsoon and tumultuous sea causing severe sea erosion, MP Nalin Kumar paid visit to the areas affected by sea erosion in Uchila on Thursday, June 13.
Speaking to the media the MP said, “Rough sea over here has destroyed many houses so far. Last year, the central government had sanctioned grants for permanent solution for sea erosion. But this time around, there is a rise in sea erosion in this region. As there is no proper technical guidance, problems continue to haunt these areas. Locals are demanding permanent solution for sea erosion.”
“For a permanent solution, new scientific projects have been undertaken which have not been completed due leading to sea erosion and its aftermath. Several houses have already collapsed. I have already discussed with locals as well as officials to find permanent and temporary solution for this. We will also hold meeting with the officials for the same,” he added.
