Bengaluru: Postcard news founder Mahesh Vikram Hegde on Thursday stoked yet another controversy by saying that referring to Mahatma Gandhi as the father of the nation would be an insult to our motherland.
Gandhiji can be referred to as Son of Bharat Mata, he wrote in a tweet.
“Nation that has thousands of years of heritage is called BHARAT MATA We’ve given the place MOTHER. So Won’t it be an insult to our mother if we call Gandhiji as “Father of Nation?
It is better call him “son of Bharat Mata” Let me remind that Pakistan was born due to him,” reads his tweet.

It may be recalled that Hegde had been arrested earlier in April this year on basis of a complaint lodged by state Home minister for circulating a fake letter, allegedly written by him to Sonia Gandhi regarding Lingayat issue in the state.
