Udupi: Malpe Beach Authority has put up nets and red flags along the Malpe Beach stretch to stop tourists from entering the sea in the backdrop of the sea turning rough.
40 flags at different locations and 7 feet high net covering a stretch of 1 kilometer has been installed, warning the tourists from venturing into the water.
Depending on the monsoons and if the turbulence in the sea settles down, the net and red flags may be removed during the first week of September.
About 8 huts which were stationed on the beach were dismantled and will be constructed after the monsoons. Meanwhile, the Authority has requested tourists to follow the rules strictly and not venture into the sea, until red flags are replaced with the yellow.
