Street dog attack leaves three including children hospitalized

Kundapur: Three persons including two small children suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a pack of street dogs near Kandlur bridge here on Wednesday evening June 19. All the injured have been admitted at a private hospital.
Incident synopsis
On Wednesday evening, a pack of five street dogs attacked a few children who were playing at Toplu near Kandlur bridge. The dogs also attacked a woman who attempted to shield the children from the canines and scare them away.
Four-year-old Adivth, Ayeja (4) and Kanaka Poojarthi (45) suffered serious injuries and all the injured are presently receiving treatment at Chinmayi Hospital Kundapur.
The locals succeeded in driving away the dogs by hitting them with sticks and thus saving the children from mortal danger. The incident has sent shock waves through Kandlur village.
Protect people
Since sometime, street dos menace has increased. Around 15 to 20 packs of dogs are active in the area and come evening; they turn dangerous, said Jyoti Putran, a local TP member. She urged the concerned department and the local administration to protect the people and get rid of the street dogs at the earliest.
