Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the extreme off-road version of the Compass SUV has been launched in India at Rs.26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India). At this price tag, the new Compass Trailhawk is around Rs.3.7 lakh more expensive than the current range-topping Limited Plus AWD variant. Bookings for the SUV have commenced earlier this month on 11th June. Interested buyers can book the all-new Jeep Compass Trailhawk at a token amount of Rs.50,000.

The Compass Trailhawk is available only in the diesel version. It gets powered by the same 2.0-litre Multijet II turbo-diesel engine which is now BS6-compliant and comes paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The engine produces maximum power and torque outputs of 171bhp @ 3750rpm and 350Nm @ 1750rpm respectively. Jeep offers the new SUV with an adBlue tank that helps in cleaning the exhaust gases.

The highlight features that make the new Compass Trailhawk premium over the Compass include a ‘Trail Rated’ badge on the fender, redesigned bumpers for better approach and departure angles, black decal on the bonnet for better visibility, new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, increased ground clearance of 205mm along with a 510mm improvement in water wading depth. Jeep also offers the SUV with its ‘Active Drive Low 4×4 system’ which includes a low-range, hill-descent control and a Rock mode for the Selec-Terrain system, along with the currently available Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud modes of the Compass.

On the interior, the Compass Trailhawk gets an all-black cabin with red inserts which lends it a sportier look. It resembles the Compass Limited Plus in its feature list including an 8.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, Engine Start-Stop, Built-in Navigation and an electronic parking brake. It also gets automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist, rear parking sensors with camera and more.
