Son-in-law kidnaps and assaults

Kumble: A man lost his life at a hospital after he was kidnapped and grievously assaulted by a tam which was hired by the victim’s son-in-law for the purpose.  The deceased is identified as Altaf (55), a resident of Uppala Sonkal.

A 5-member team under the leadership of Altaf’s son-in-law Shabeer, Riyaz and Latif kidnapped Altaf from his home in a car on June 23rd. Along with the victim, Shabeer had kidnapped a kid as well, who was later left at the house of a relative.

Meanwhile, Altaf was taken in a car and assaulted by the team. Later, they slit his wrists, dumped the grievously injured victim in the veranda of a hospital in Mangaluru and made good their escape.

The critically injured Altaf was rushed to another hospital and emergency treatment was provided but to no avail.
