High alert in K’taka after NIA arrests terror suspect

Bengaluru: Days after a suspected terrorist, a Bangladeshi national was arrested in the Doddaballapura town, officials on Thursday said that a high alert warning has been issued across Karnataka.
Addressing presspersons Home Minister M B Patil said that the suspect is allegedly linked to a terror organization.
He further added that he had a meeting with the CID officials and as a precautionary measure high alert has been sounded across Karnataka.
When questioned about the recovery of two live-bombs allegedly thrown out by the suspected terrorist in Ramanagara town on Wednesday, Patil refused to speak on “Since it comes under the jurisdiction of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), I have nothing to say on the incident but only extend all cooperation.”
A Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operative, wanted in the 2014 Burdwan blast case, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency from Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Habibur Rehman Sheikh (28) alias Habibur or Sheikh was apprehended by the central agency from the Jabalpur area of the city, an official said.
Hours after a Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh arrest, the National Investigation Agency and Intelligence Bureau Wednesday found two “live” bombs hidden in a stormwater drain in Ramanagar district, officials said.
