Mangaluru: By quickly repairing the solar panel of a signal light installed at Ambedkar circle in the city during the night, the city police commissioner Sandeep Patil has acted quickly to the complaints of the public.

The highest amount of vehicular traffic and pedestrian density in the city occurs at Ambedkar circle located at Jyoti junction. But the solar panel of one of the traffic signals installed here had lost connection and was hanging precariously posing danger. A reader of Udayavani took a photo of the situation and sent it via WhatsApp to the daily on Tuesday evening drawing attention towards the situation.

But, instead of printing the problem in the newspaper, it was assumed that the problem could be solved more quickly by bringing the issue to the notice of the concerned and hence, the message and photo sent by the readers was forwarded to the city police commissioner Sandeep Patil on the same day at 9pm in the night.

What is appreciable is that the commissioner informed that the message has been forwarded to the concerned traffic ACP who will resolve the issue at the earliest.
