Karwar: Two youth drown swimming in the sea

Karwar: Two youths who had come here to take part in a wedding function drowned after having ventured out into the sea for a swim at Karwar beach in Sunday June 30th.

The deceased are identified as Naved Javd Khazi (17), and Naim Haneef Hebballi (21), residents of Saidapur and Mehboob Nagar in Dharwad respectively. The deceased were swimming in the sea when they were washed away by huge, strong waves.

Having come to take part in a wedding function, they ventured into the sea with friends when the calamity stuck. Naved’s corpse has been recovered.

The police along with assistance from the Indian Coast guard are trying to locate the mortal remains of Naim. A case in this regard has been registered at Karwar town police.
