Illegal slaughter house raided at Kannur, case filed

Mangaluru: Acting on a tip-off given by city crime branch officials, Kankanady police personnel raided an illegal slaughterhouse being operated from a house in Kannur.
Though the accused absconded from the spot, the police found pelts of three cattle, beef, and waste products at the illegal slaughterhouse as also equipment used in slaughtering cattle.
Kankanady town police station registered a case under section 379 of Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
