Bullet tanker topples at Udyavara; Precautionary measures taken

Udupi: A loaded LPG tanker plying towards Belagavi from Mangaluru toppled after the driver lost control of his vehicle while attempting to turn at Balaipade and heading towards Udyavara at around 5 am on Wednesday July 3. Driver of the tanker, Ayivuddin, survived with minor injuries.
Ayivuddin took a U-turn near Balaipade and was leaving the highway and heading to a petrol bunk when the tanker fell. Since the fallen tanker was loaded with LPG, the people in the area became tense worrying about the grave danger it posed.
Police and firefighters have rushed to the stop. Hotels in the vicinity have been warned to not to begin operations till further information by the police.
The area was visited by Indian Oil Corporation officials who inspected the tanker.
