21-year-old youth stabs grandmother to death for retirement benefits of Rs 6 lac

Bidar: A 21-year-old youth stabbed and killed his grandmother on Tuesday, July 2 for refusing to part with her retirement benefits of Rs 6 lac.

The accused is identified as Akash (21) and the deceased is Leelavati (62).

It is gathered that Leelavati, who was working as an assistant cook in Kanaji BCM hostel had retired some days ago, following which she had received Rs 6 lac as retirement benefits.

Akash, who was eyeing for the money, was harassing his grandmother and finally on Tuesday stabbed her to death.

Dhannur police station has registered a case in this regard.
