Prakash Poojary arrest in Muscat: MP Nalin seeks ministry’s help

Mangaluru: In order to seek intervention in bring back Prakash Poojary, a resident of Kashipatna of Belthangady taluk, who was arrested by the Muscat police a few days ago, MP Nalin Kumar met minister of state for external affairs, V Muraleedharan, on Thursday, July 4. The MP requested the minister to give required directions in this regard to the officers of Indian Embassy in Muscat.
Mr Muraleedharan responded to the request of the MP and gathered details of the issue with the officers of the foreign department and assured the MP that once all the legal formalities were completed, Prakash Poojary would be brought back to India.
Additionally, the MP requested the minister to direct Indian Embassy officials in Kuwait to arrange the flight tickets for 13 people, out of the 73 Indians, who are currently stranded in Kuwait after having gone there for employment. Mr Muraleedharan responded that he would hold a discussion with the concerned officials on this matter and investigate.
