Police raid illegal laterite quarry: Machines, lorries worth Rs 31 lakh seized

Mangaluru: An illegal laterite stone quarry was raided by Mangaluru north sub-division anti rowdy police squad on July 5 and the cops seized four machines, four redstone loaded lorries together worth about Rs 31 lakh.
Based on a definite tip off, the squad led by ACP Srinivas R Gowda raided the illegal laterite stone quarry being run at Padamale, Badagamijar village and Manjanabail village by Joachim Correa and Hemachandra Jagadish.
Moodbidri station police sub-inspector Dejappa, north sub-division anti rowdy police squad staff ASI Mohammed, Kushala Maniani, Vijay Kanchan, Sathish M, Isaq, Sharan Kali and Moodbidri police station staff Shivaraj, Bande Navaz and others were part of the operation conducted under the guidance of senior police officials.
