Uppinangady: A team of police personnel on Monday conducted surprise inspection at Uppinangadi government first-grade college and PU college to ensure effective implementation of mobile phone ban within the college campus.

The police team led by Sub-inspector Nanda Kumar seized 24 mobile phones from the students during the inspection.

Students were asked to come along with their parents to take back the seized phones. However few students it is learnt tried to hoodwink the police by bringing third person, posing as their parents. They were left disappointed as police asked identity proofs to prove the identity of their parents.
